FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY

Florida Gulf Coast University is located near Ft. Myers and just a few minutes from Southwest International Airport.

This progressive University serves all of Southwest Florida and now has students from other states as well as foreign countries. It has continued to grow since its beginning in 1997. Since the first student was accepted FGCU has added many fields of study.

FGCU is situated on a large lake where students can enjoy all kinds of boating and water activities. The campus is kept in traditional southwest Florida landscaping and parking garages has released much of the land in order to keep the natural habitat intact.

The University sponsors many concerts and art exhibits open to the public and, of course, their sports complex is inviting to the fans. The FGCU Eagles are aggressive in all their team sports and exciting to watch. In being a new school, all buildings for the arts, sports, or classrooms are state of the art and built for easy access. Take a tour of the campus as you are sure to will be impressed. You will find the University between Corkscrew Road and Alico Road on Ben Griffen Highway. It is close to Germain Arena, Miromar Outlet Stores and Gulf Coast Mall.

The University’s 760 acres of land was donated by Ben Hill Griffen and Alico, Inc. FL Gulf Coast University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, master and doctoral degrees. FGCU continues to add new undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

The University athletic program has advanced to NCAA Division I. The athletic complex is first-class, to say the least, and very impressive. At present, the school enrolls over 12,000 students and is rapidly increasing year by year. They sport a very aggressive construction program that includes both academic and support buildings.
