The Oyster House Restaurant in Everglades City is definitely our favorite for fresh seafood direct from the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Shores.

You will not want to miss a meal at this wonderful, inviting restaurant. No matter what the size of your party and with or without reservations, you will be treated with a friendliness that abounds! Y

our evening meal will be superb as you look across at the Ten-thousand Islands and view the spectacular sunset.

The restaurant is inviting and has a super location that is easy to find. It is adjacent to the Everglades National Park Gulf Coast Visitor Center and the Ten-Thousand Islands Boat Tour.

The relaxed charm of the restaurant includes the original décor of hunting and fishing and it is true what they say, “you walk in as a stranger, and leave as one of our well-fed friends.”

Owned and operated by the Miller Family, who, in addition to the restaurant, offer cabins, boats, kayaks, canoes and bike rentals. They also offer guided tours and guided fishing tours.

The staff will also be happy to suggest other activities and sites within the area to make an exciting day for you.

Signature dishes include oysters in the half shell, raw, steamed or fried, and fried blue crab fingers.

Other recommendations include Oyster’s Rockefeller with Brandy and Asiago cheese, Alligator Sauteed or Fried and Home-made New England Chowder.

But don’t forget the huge, fried shrimp, Marcia’s family’s personal favorite! They are brought in fresh from Jacksonville.

If you are not into seafood, don’t fret, The Oyster House serves many dishes for the landlubber.

Insider Tips: Fishermen, if you don’t want to cook your own catch, bring it to the restaurant and they will prepare it for you while you relax and enjoy the casual Florida setting.
