Tigertail Beach is listed as a well-known birding site by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation. Sand Dollar Island, across the tidal lagoon, is a natural habitat for the many shorebirds who make the Island their nesting area. What a treat to be able to watch these unique birds as they hunt for their food. Among the birds that you may spot are plovers, least terns, roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, osprey, and pelicans. There are birding tours and various educational programs given by Park Rangers.
