Bonita Springs FL is a beautiful example of a mixture of old Florida and new Florida. For years Bonita was considered a bit of a “backwater” located between Naples and Fort Myers. However, about five years ago, it came into its own.
Bonita has always offered beaches, beautiful real estate, and golf. Now you will find a vibrant business community along with a greatly expanded choice of restaurants to lure and entertain visitors and residents alike.
Bonita Springs is home to the Naples–Fort Myers dog track which is very popular with sports and gambling enthusiasts. The dog track is located on Bonita Beach Road between I-75 and US 41. Down the road you will find a Vegas-style game room and farther on a Bingo Hall.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy nature too from beaching, to shelling, to fishing, canoeing or kayaking, or to enjoy a peaceful boating cruise in Estero Bay at sunset.
Barefoot Beach and Bonita Beach are adjacent to each other. A little farther north you may enjoy a day at Lover’s Key State Park.
The atmosphere is a little quieter than Naples or Fort Myers, non-the-less, you will find plenty of entertainment and activity in or around beautiful Bonita. The Promenade is just north of Bonita Beach Road on Tamiami Trail in Bonita Bay. It is a high-end outdoor mall with wonderful shops and restaurants within a tropical setting.
Restaurants in Bonita range from the more modest cafe to the finest in dining experience. The wonderful access to the blue waters of the Gulf and the adventuresome area known as Estero Bay where all varieties of wildlife are in abundance is a must.
Bonita Springs is well known for its international Fine Arts Festival which is rated one of the top art festivals in the United States and has the largest attendance of any event in the area. The Bonita area supports a very active center of the arts.
