The 8th Annual Southwest Florida Nature Festival is on January 13 - 15, 2012. Don't miss this event if you are visiting Naples, Florida at this time. It is extraordinary all the events, speakers and tours that are lined up for families and people to enjoy!

If you have missed on to learn more about the fantastic activities and learning events that the sponsoring organization, The Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, has planned for this 8th annual Florida festival but also to learn about all the other special nature preserves that you can visit during your stay in beautiful Naples, Florida and southwest Florida.

The festival has close to 40 two to three hour field trips to interesting natural wilderness areas around Southwest Florida. In fact, some of the field trips locales are usually not open to the public. So, it is important to register at the above link to make sure you don't miss some of these incredible field trip opportunities!

If you love nature you will have a great time at this festival. The experts who lead the tours are not your average volunteers but are biologists, scientists and other renowned experts in the field of Southwest Everglades, sanctuaries, birding, animals and all sorts of interesting fields of study.

To open the 8th Annual Southwest Florida Nature Festival there will be a Saturday night opening reception with a keynote speaker that you will not want to miss! Emmy-nominated nature documentary cinematographer Michael Male and his filmmaking partner, Judy Fieth. They will share with participants some of their most exquisite and intimate nest-side close-up photos of some amazing Southwest Florida's birds. If you love birds...don't miss this!

When: January 13-15 are Field Trips; January 14 is a Nature Film Festival, Lectures and Keynote Address.

Cost: Field Trips begin at $10; admission to the Environmental Learning Center on January 14 is $10 for ages 13 and above; Keynote Reception and presentation with wine and light refreshments is $10.00
